  • CACI is family of independent individuals who work together to help children and their families, that is the Youths, affected by HIV/AIDS, Human abuse and poverty. We work in a way that maximizes our collective efforts for the benefit of children and girls / women in Uganda.


    Over 400,000 young people in Uganda are unable to find decent work. At the same time, employers cite lack of skills is a major impediment to hiring youth for those jobs that exists. Working to fill this gap, CACI equips the young girls / women with skill and technical knowledge, while connecting them to the mentors, internships. The job placements services they need to succeed in the job market.


    We also help the youth to employ themselves and create new jobs by training them to be entrepreneurs and linking them to the capital needed to start new businesses.

    The over arching is goal is to identify, plan and manage community based development projects aimed at promoting the quality of life and socioeconomic welfare of the community.

    Only through decent employment opportunities can we help young children, girls, and women work their way out of poverty. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in setting up workshops to develop adult skills, enabling individuals to start their own businesses. Additionally, providing healthcare and counseling will be a significant part of our process to uplift the community.


    Orphans & Vulnerable Children Program


    Skills Development Training:

    This intervention targets disadvantaged children and youth who cannot afford school fees or fail to obtain the necessary results, as well as unemployed youth seeking hands-on skills training. This program enhances employability and provides a skilled foundation to build a career, thereby reducing unemployment levels. Training areas include:


    - Hairdressing

    - Tailoring

    - Garment Cutting

    - Fashion Design

    - Knitting

    - Cobbling and Shoe Production

    - Leather Works

    - Handcrafts Making

    - Computer Training


    Each training course is complemented with a certificate upon completion, empowering young people to believe in their dreams and support their households and families.


    Community Development Volunteer Opportunities


    There are numerous areas where you can volunteer. If you cannot find a suitable role on the vacancy board, please contact the program coordinator for assistance.


    Children and Young People:

    - Volunteer in primary schools, vocational skills centers, or with youth groups.

    - Opportunities include mentoring, training, teaching, and workshops in various subjects.


    Women and Girls Empowerment:

    - Adult literacy teaching simple English

    - Women skills empowerment and sharing

    - Urban farming skills training


    Health/Medical:

    - Counseling HIV/AIDS patients and providing psychosocial support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs)

    - Reproductive health education for youth and young girls

    - HIV/AIDS testing outreaches and supporting patients at health centers

    - Sharing positive living information with HIV clients, including drug adherence, disclosure methods, memory book writing, will writing, and risk reduction plans


    Adult Learning Program


    In partnership with Adult Learning and Empowerment Facilitators (ALEF), Sweden, this program is implemented in Wakiso District and focuses on young people and adults aged 15-50, with a priority given to women, especially mothers of school-age children. The program empowers beneficiaries through:


    - Learning reading, writing, and numeracy

    - Enhancing economic and social control over their lives

  • The volunteer house is now open to volunteers ready to offer their time and make an impact in children at CACI King David learning center in Kiwugo Namuyenje Mukono District. The volunteers will be given 3 delicious African meals, lunch and dinner and break tea. Also pick up to and from the airport is our organizations’ responsibility.

Flexibility & Resourcefulness

volunteering can be almost anything and everything. However if you have a specific project or activity that you would like to get involved with. Please just let us know and we will try our best to arrange this.


Volunteers will be trained of the culture and tradition of the community they will be working in to much with their services to the community. Local language during orientation will be trained to allow the volunteers to socialize in the community. Volunteers with professions in identified areas like medical health, teaching, office management and administrations will be given opportunity to exercise their skills practically.
